In Year 1 last week we used stones to make repeating pattern art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. We made circle art because Andy Goldsworthy always has a black circle in the middle of his art work.
We labelled some of Goldsworthy’s art work before we created our own.
Yesterday we watched this video https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/watch/poppies and spoke about why we wear poppies to remember the fallen soldiers.
We made our own poppies…
This afternoon Year 1 children went to the park to make their own Andy Goldsworthy inspired art. We explored and collected things we wanted to use.
These are the pieces we created…
We even had time to stop for a play…
What a great afternoon!
In Year 1 we have been looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy. Today we used primary and secondary colours to recreate this piece of work.
In Reception we read the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish’. We mixed paint to make new colours and made our own rainbow fish.
We watched videos of fireworks on Friday. This is what we thought…
We made firework pictures which are on display in our window. Come and have a look!
This half term our topic subject is Art. Today we explored the concept of colour. Year 1 named the three primary colours and used them to make the three secondary colours. We wrote labels to show what we knew. We were very excited to be working in our special art books.
Reception children were able to name all of the colours in a rainbow. We played games and painted our own rainbows carefully 🌈
