We have been busy learning lots in our maths lessons today.
Reception children have been practising their subtraction skills by playing a game involving hunting for objects and taking some away.
Year 1 children have been developing their addition skills by using ‘grab mats’ to construct number sentences.
We always have great fun whilst learning lots!
These children used the greater than, less than and equals signs to compare numbers.
We have started to look at addition in Maths. We started off by counting how many altogether. We used a part, part, whole model to help us.
Miss Crawley introduced us to her friends – Mr Add and Mr Equals. We can use our arms to show each sign…
Some of us have been writing number sentences using dice and cubes.
Today year 1 have been continuing to learn about numbers to 20 by representing them in different ways with different mathematical apparatus such as base 10, numicon and counters.
The Year One children have been working hard finding lots of different number bonds this week. These children used cherries and cakes to find the different number bonds that make 7. They were able to write the different number sentences using the + and = signs 👏🏽👏🏽
